DEM BONES, DEM BONES
Since I was a child I’ve been delighted with the song, “Dem Bones,, made famous by the Delta Rhythm Boys. The older I got and the more I studied Zero Balancing and the skeletal system, the more appreciative I got of these innermost bridges connecting us. And the final refrain of the song is what? - “neck bone connected to the head bone… - Now hear the words of the Lord!” To me that conveys a kind of ultimate understanding of our connection through the body’s bones with a reality that transcends our individual self. May we indeed hear beyond just the “head bone” from the higher self or hear, whatever you want call it, the angels singing, the voice of the Lord, Mother Nature’s call.
Ezekiel 37; 1-10
God took me forth and placed me in the midst of a valley, and it was full of bones,
and caused me to pass over them, all round about, and lo, very many on the face of the valley, and lo, very dry.
And God said unto me, ‘Do these bones live?’ And I said, ‘O Lord, Thou knowest.’
And then God said unto me, ‘Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them: ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord:
‘Lo, I am bringing into you a spirit, and that you may live and I will give you sinews, and cause muscles to come upon you, and cover you over with skin, and will give in you a spirit, that you may live.’
And I prophesied as I have been commanded, and there is a noise, as I am prophesying, and lo, a rushing, and drawing near do the bones, bone unto its bone.
And I beheld, and lo, on them were sinews, and muscles come up, and covered them with skin— yet spirit there was none in them.
And God said me: ‘Prophesy unto the Spirit: Thus said the Lord: ‘From the four winds come in, O Spirit, and breathe on these dry bones, that they may live.’
And I have prophesied as I was commanded, and the Spirit came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet — a very very great force.
